Datalogic PowerScan PM9600 DPX Barcode Scanner (PM9600-DDPX433RB)

The Datalogic PowerScan PM9600 DPX is the cordless direct part marking (DPM) model of Datalogic's rugged PowerScan 9600 series, built for traceability in manufacturing. It reads codes marked directly on metal and plastic parts as well as printed 1D and 2D labels, communicates with its base station through the Datalogic STAR Cordless System™ – a two-way 433 MHz narrow-band radio with a range of up to 150 m in open air – and charges wirelessly (inductively) in the base, so there are no charging contacts to wear out. A removable 3350 mAh battery lasts for more than 80,000 reads per charge, the scanner withstands 50 drops from 2.5 m, is sealed to IP65 and IP67 and comes with a 3-year Datalogic warranty. This version, PM9600-DDPX433RB, has DPX direct part marking (DPM) optics – white, red and blue illumination for laser-etched, dot-peened, inkjet-printed and electrochemically etched marks on metal and plastic parts.

It has a 1.8″ OLED display and 4 configurable keys, so operators can see messages from the host and confirm tasks right on the scanner. It uses the 433 MHz STAR radio – the version for Europe and most countries outside North America. It is supplied as the scanner with battery only – the base station, interface cable and power supply are not included.

• Built for tough environments – withstands 50 drops from 2.5 m onto concrete (2.0 m at −20 °C), and the trigger is rated for 10 million pulls.
• IP65 and IP67 sealing – dust-tight and protected against water jets and temporary immersion, so the scanner can be cleaned and used in wet, dusty and outdoor areas.
• Clear good-read feedback – Datalogic 3GL™ (Three Green Lights), the Green Spot projected onto the code, a loud adjustable beeper and vibration confirm every read, even in noisy environments.
• Modular base station – the BC9600-series base/charger takes plug-in connection modules for USB and RS-232 (CM9630/CM9631) or Ethernet, EtherNet/IP and PROFINET (CM9680/CM9681); free Datalogic Aladdin configuration tool, OPOS/JavaPOS utilities and EASEOFCARE service plans.

How to read the part numbers: DDPX stands for the DPX direct part marking optics with a display and 4 keys; 433 is the radio frequency (433 MHz STAR, for Europe and most countries outside North America – 910 MHz versions for North America are available on request); R/RB means the removable battery is included. Versions ending in K10 are USB kits and versions ending in K20 RS-232 kits with the BC9630 base station and a power supply, K30 is the Ethernet kit with the BC9680 base station and a power supply, and the version without a K suffix is the scanner only.
