Datalogic PowerScan PBT9600 Barcode Scanner (PBT9600-SRRB)

The Datalogic PowerScan PBT9600 is a rugged cordless 2D handheld imager from Datalogic's PowerScan 9600 series, built for warehouses, manufacturing and logistics. Its Bluetooth® 5.0 radio (Class 1, up to 100 m in open air) links it to a PowerScan 9600 Bluetooth base station or directly to any Bluetooth-enabled PC, tablet or mobile computer, and it charges wirelessly (inductively) in the base, so there are no charging contacts to wear out. A removable 3350 mAh battery lasts for about 80,000 reads per charge, the scanner withstands 50 drops from 2.5 m, is sealed to IP65 and IP67 and comes with a 3-year Datalogic warranty. This version, PBT9600-SRRB, has Standard Range (SR) optics – the all-round choice for everyday 1D and 2D barcodes up to about 1.75 m.

It is the model without a display – a straightforward trigger-only scanner. It is supplied as the scanner with battery only – the base station, interface cable and power supply are not included.

Key Features

• Bluetooth® 5.0 wireless technology – Class 1 radio with a range of up to 100 m in open air to the base station; pairs with a BC96x0-BT base or directly with any Bluetooth PC, tablet or mobile computer using the HID or SPP profile, with data encryption and scanner authentication.
• Standard Range (SR) optics – a 1280 × 800 sensor with a 38° field of view reads everyday 1D and 2D barcodes from close up to about 1.75 m (40 mil Code 128) and codes down to 3 mil.
• Simple trigger-only operation – the version without display or keypad for pure scanning tasks; a model with an OLED display and 16-key keypad is also available.
• Wireless charging and long battery life – inductive charging without contacts or pins that could get dirty, bent or broken; the removable 3350 mAh Li-ion battery lasts for about 80,000 reads and charges to 95% in about 2.5 hours.
• Built for tough environments – withstands 50 drops from 2.5 m onto concrete (2.0 m at −20 °C), and the trigger is rated for 10 million pulls.
• IP65 and IP67 sealing – dust-tight and protected against water jets and temporary immersion, so the scanner can be cleaned and used in wet, dusty and outdoor areas.
• Clear good-read feedback – Datalogic 3GL™ (Three Green Lights), the Green Spot projected onto the code, a loud adjustable beeper and vibration confirm every read, even in noisy environments.
• Motionix™ motion sensing – the scanner senses when it is picked up and is instantly ready to read.
• Modular base station – the BC9600-series base/charger takes plug-in connection modules for USB and RS-232 (CM9630/CM9631) or Ethernet, EtherNet/IP and PROFINET (CM9680/CM9681); free Datalogic Aladdin configuration tool, OPOS/JavaPOS utilities and EASEOFCARE service plans.

Ideal Applications

• General industrial scanning – everyday 1D and 2D labels at short to medium distances
• Forklifts, large warehouses and yards – cordless scanning up to 100 m from the base, or paired directly with a vehicle-mount computer or tablet via Bluetooth
• Manufacturing and automotive – work-in-process tracking, parts traceability and quality control
• Warehousing and logistics – receiving, picking, cycle counting and shipping
• Loading docks, cold stores and outdoor areas – IP65/IP67 protection against dust and water
• Transport, postal and courier hubs – sorting and tracking parcels
