Zebra DS2278 Wireless Barcode Scanner (DS2278-SR6UMC00AZW)

The Zebra DS2278 is a cordless Bluetooth® 2D handheld barcode scanner that reads virtually every 1D and 2D barcode – on paper labels as well as on mobile phone screens – with simple point-and-shoot, omnidirectional scanning. Its 2,400 mAh battery easily lasts a full shift, it pairs with PCs, tablets and smartphones in a single step, and it is backed by a 3-year (36-month) Zebra warranty. This version, DS2278-SR6UMC00AZW, comes in Nova White and is the Micro USB kit: it is supplied with a Micro USB charging cable – pair the scanner directly with your Bluetooth PC, tablet or smartphone and charge it from any USB port.

Key Features

• Reads 1D and 2D barcodes – including QR codes, Data Matrix and PDF417, from paper labels and from phone or tablet screens (e-coupons, loyalty cards, mobile tickets).
• PRZM intelligent imaging – Zebra's decode algorithms capture damaged, poorly printed and low-contrast barcodes at the first attempt.
• Cordless Bluetooth® freedom – Bluetooth 4.0 with BLE, up to 10 m range; industry-first Scan-to-Connect pairs the scanner with any Bluetooth PC, tablet or smartphone in a single step, and Zebra's Wi-Fi friendly mode prevents interference with your WLAN.
• Full-shift battery – the 2,400 mAh Li-ion battery delivers up to 110,000 scans (at 60 scans per minute) or 84 hours of operation per charge and is designed to last for years, so there is no battery pool to manage.
• Fast, flexible charging – charge enough for a 14-hour shift in about an hour via the Micro USB cable (from a PC or a USB wall adapter), or simply place the scanner in the presentation cradle, which charges it during use and needs no separate power supply.
• Point-and-shoot, omnidirectional scanning – no need to line up the barcode with the scanner; a familiar aim line shows the ideal scanning distance.
• Direct Decode Indicator – the illumination on the barcode flashes on a good read, so staff know instantly that the scan worked, even in a noisy store.
• Handheld or hands-free – place the scanner in its presentation cradle and it switches to hands-free mode automatically, with no settings to change.
• Easy to deploy – pre-configured out of the box; the cradle uses the same auto-host-detect Zebra cables as the LS2208 and DS2208 (USB, RS232, keyboard wedge, IBM 46XX). Supports more than 90 international keyboards, and beeper, LED and symbology settings can be controlled from Windows, Android and iOS hosts.
• Built to last – withstands repeated 1.5 m drops to concrete and 250 tumbles, IP52 sealed, with a 36-month Zebra warranty on the scanner and the cradle.
• Free management tools – configure with 123Scan, manage remotely with Scanner Management Service (SMS) and integrate using the Zebra Scanner SDK.

Technical Specifications

Not sure which version you need? Choose the presentation cradle kit for a fixed checkout or a PC without Bluetooth – the cradle charges the scanner and allows hands-free scanning. The Micro USB kit is ideal for tablets, smartphones and PCs with Bluetooth. The scanner-only version is the most economical choice if you already have a CR2278 cradle or a Micro USB charging cable.
