Zebra LI4278 Wireless Barcode Scanner (LI4278-TRBU0100ZER)

The Zebra LI4278 is a cordless Bluetooth® 1D linear imager – a fast, rugged general-purpose handheld scanner for checkouts, stockrooms and offices. It captures up to 547 scans per second and reads virtually every 1D barcode – printed on paper labels and packaging and displayed on phone, tablet or computer screens (mobile coupons, loyalty cards, e-tickets) – with standard 100% UPC codes read from 2.5 cm to about 78 cm. Bluetooth 2.1 gives you up to 100 m of freedom from the cradle, batch mode stores more than 500 barcodes when the scanner is out of range, and the replaceable battery delivers up to 57,000 scans per charge. Please note: the LI4278 reads 1D barcodes only – it does not read QR codes, Data Matrix or PDF417. This version, LI4278-TRBU0100ZER, comes in Twilight Black and is the standard cradle USB kit: it is supplied with the CR0078-S standard cradle in matching colour (Bluetooth charging and communication base for the desk or the wall) and a USB cable – everything you need to start scanning cordlessly at your PC or POS.

• Reads from paper and screens – unlike a laser scanner, the LI4278 also reads 1D barcodes displayed on mobile phones, tablets and computer monitors – ideal for mobile coupons, loyalty cards and e-tickets.
• 1D only – please check your barcodes – the LI4278 does not read QR codes, Data Matrix, PDF417 or other 2D codes. If you need them, choose the cordless Zebra DS2278 2D scanner.
• Wide working range – from 2.5 cm to about 78 cm on standard 100% EAN/UPC (13 mil) barcodes and up to 140 cm on large 200% UPC codes; also reads high-density codes down to 3 mil.
• Superior motion and angle tolerance – reads barcodes moving at up to 63.5 cm per second and at extreme angles (±65° skew and pitch), so there is no need to pause between scans.
• Cordless Bluetooth® freedom – Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR provides secure, energy-efficient communication and easy pairing, with a range of up to 100 m (line of sight). Batch mode stores more than 500 UPC barcodes when the scanner is out of range and uploads them automatically on return.
• Battery for the whole shift – the replaceable rechargeable battery delivers up to 57,000 scans and up to 72 hours of operation per full charge – well beyond a single shift, even in scan-intensive applications.
• Flexible cradles – the CR0078-S standard cradle (desk or wall, horizontal or vertical) connects up to 3 scanners, the CR0078-P presentation cradle up to 7 scanners and enables hands-free scanning; the industrial charging contacts are rated for more than 250,000 insertions. The LI4278 also works with existing LS4278 and DS6878 cradles and accessories.
• Universal interfaces – the cradles connect to USB, RS232, keyboard wedge and IBM 46xx (RS485) hosts – just choose the matching Zebra cable.
• Built for all-day, everyday use – the IP53 gasket-sealed housing withstands dust and can be sprayed clean, and the scanner survives more than 100 drops from 1.5 m and 1.8 m drops to concrete; the single-circuit-board design maximises durability. 36-month Zebra warranty on the scanner.
• Easy to manage – 123Scan, Scanner Management Service (SMS), Remote Scanner Management (RSM) and the Zebra Scanner SDK simplify configuration, firmware updates and custom development.

Technical Specifications

Not sure which version you need? For a new checkout or workstation, choose a standard cradle USB kit – LI4278-TRBU0100ZER (black) or LI4278-TRWU0100ZER (white): both include the cradle and the USB cable, and the cradle is powered from the USB port. LI4278-PRWU2100AWR adds hands-free scanning with the presentation cradle and its power supply (please add the AC power cord). The scanner-only versions LI4278-SR20007WR (black) and LI4278-SR20001WR (white) are intended as additional or replacement scanners for an existing CR0078 (or LS4278/DS6878) cradle.
